Some good news for a change: Rough Trade, a venerable English record store, has opened here, in Williamsburg. The Brooklyn outpost is a record store and a music venue. The concert space will by run by Bowery Presents and it opens this weekend with two shows by Television (both are sold out). There will also be in-store shows as well, and this Saturday afternoon Now I’ve Heard Everything favorite Phosphorescent will be playing there at 3pm.
If you like Elizabeth and The Catapult, or would like to get to know this wonderful NYC based band, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to do so over the next couple of months. Elizabeth announced last night that the Monday night E & The C residency at Rockwood Stage 3 will continue through the month of December, with some shows also at Rockwood Stage 2. And there will be a record release show at The Mercury Lounge in January for the new Elizabeth and The Catapult record, Like It Never Happened.
